Why this comparison matters

MoMo support: how each handles Ghana's payment reality
Rent in Ghana moves through MoMo. If a rent app does not treat MoMo as first-class, it is not really a Ghana rent app.
PadiRent lets you log payments from all three networks in the same flow: pick the tenant, enter the amount and the period, save. You choose the tenant every time, so no payment sits unmatched. When a family member pays on behalf of the tenant, log it under the tenant and add a note. Want the transaction ID on record? Put it in the note too.
FixerRent's current MoMo flow: check their site for the latest. If you already run FixerRent, look at whether logging one payment takes you under 15 seconds and whether payments from an unregistered sender number are still traceable to the tenant. Those are the two questions that matter.
Advance rent and expiry alerts
Ghanaian landlords still collect 1 or 2 years of rent up front. Losing track of when an advance runs out is a common, expensive mistake — you find out on the day the tenant is supposed to renew, and the tenant has already moved on because you never opened the conversation.
PadiRent shows the exact expiry date for every tenant. You get an app notification 3 days before and on the day, plus an SMS on the day rent expires. The Expiries list shows every tenant by how close they are: overdue, under 30 days, under 60 days.

Data use and weak signal
Signal drops. In Adenta, in parts of Kumasi's outskirts, on the Ashaiman-Tema road at rush hour. Landlords need to log while at the compound, not later "when I get home".
PadiRent needs a data connection to save, so it does not work in airplane mode. If the network is gone at the compound, log the payment as soon as you are back in range.
FixerRent's offline behaviour: check their site. The test: turn on airplane mode, open the app, try to log a payment. If it works and syncs later, they are covered.

Best for a landlord with foreign / expat tenants: Whichever handles USD-linked advances cleanly and gives you a receipt to share.

Migration — moving between them
If you are on FixerRent and considering PadiRent:
- Export your tenant list from FixerRent (most apps offer CSV export).
- Add your tenants in PadiRent one by one. There is no bulk import yet; support can help if you get stuck.
- Log one MoMo payment per tenant to confirm the flow.
- Check your Expiries list. Reminders are automatic once a tenant has a payment with an end date.
