PadiRent vs FixerRent: Choosing the Right Rent Management Tool for Ghana in 2026
By The PadiRent team · Published 5 July 2026
Ghana now has more than one option for landlords who want to move off notebooks and WhatsApp threads. Two names come up often: PadiRent and FixerRent. This guide compares them honestly and helps you pick.
We built PadiRent, so we are biased. We will call that out where it matters. What we will not do is fabricate FixerRent details. Where we do not know a specific FixerRent feature or price today, we will say so and point you to their site.

Why this comparison matters
Ghanaian landlords lose real money to bad record-keeping. Missed advance-rent expiry dates. Untracked MoMo payments credited to the wrong tenant. Family members demanding reports that live in a WhatsApp scroll. A rent app is not a nice-to-have; it is the difference between a portfolio you run and a portfolio that runs you.
Choosing the wrong tool wastes worse: you migrate data, learn a flow, then abandon it three months later. So it is worth 15 minutes to read this before you commit.
What both apps have in common
Both PadiRent and FixerRent aim at the same core job: help a Ghanaian landlord or agent track properties, tenants, and rent payments. Both offer a mobile app. Both target the same market. Beyond that, the details diverge.

MoMo support: how each handles Ghana's payment reality
Rent in Ghana moves through MoMo. If a rent app does not treat MoMo as first-class, it is not really a Ghana rent app.
PadiRent lets you log payments from all three networks in the same flow: pick the tenant, add the transaction ID, save. When you set up the tenant, you enter their MoMo number. Payments from that number are matched to the tenant automatically. When a family member pays on behalf of the tenant, you link the payment manually with one tap.
FixerRent's current MoMo flow: check their site for the latest. If you already run FixerRent, look at whether logging one payment takes you under 15 seconds and whether payments from an unregistered sender number are still traceable to the tenant. Those are the two questions that matter.
Advance rent and expiry alerts
Ghanaian landlords still collect 1 or 2 years of rent up front. Losing track of when an advance runs out is a common, expensive mistake — you find out on the day the tenant is supposed to renew, and the tenant has already moved on because you never opened the conversation.
PadiRent shows the exact expiry date for every tenant. Push alerts fire 60, 30, and 7 days before. There is a portfolio-wide "expiring soon" list at the top of your dashboard.
FixerRent's advance-rent handling: check their site. If you already use it, test the alert flow with a dummy tenant expiring in 3 days and see what actually reaches your phone.

Offline behaviour
Signal drops. In Adenta, in parts of Kumasi's outskirts, on the Ashaiman-Tema road at rush hour. Landlords need to log while at the compound, not later "when I get home".
PadiRent works offline. Add tenants. Log payments. Edit records. When the phone reconnects, everything syncs. No lost entries. No "please refresh" screen.
FixerRent's offline behaviour: check their site. The test: turn on airplane mode, open the app, try to log a payment. If it works and syncs later, they are covered.
Pricing
PadiRent is free forever for landlords and agents. Unlimited properties, tenants, and payments. No credit card. No trial. See the pricing page for the full explanation.
FixerRent's current pricing: check their site.
If price is the deciding factor and PadiRent covers your feature list, this is a short conversation.
Who each is best for
Best for a landlord in Accra, Kumasi, or Tema with 1–3 properties: Either works. PadiRent has the price and MoMo edge. FixerRent might have a workflow you prefer.
Best for an agent handling 5+ compounds across neighbourhoods: Whichever gives you a clean portfolio view and per-compound reports. Test both.
Best for a landlord with foreign / expat tenants: Whichever handles USD-linked advances cleanly and gives you a receipt to share.
Best for a landlord who has never used a rent app before: Sign up for the free one first. If it fits, stay. If not, you have lost nothing.
Migration — moving between them
If you are on FixerRent and considering PadiRent:
- Export your tenant list from FixerRent (most apps offer CSV export).
- Import into PadiRent — email or WhatsApp your list to support and we help you set up, or paste tenants manually.
- Log one MoMo payment per tenant to confirm the flow.
- Turn on advance-rent expiry alerts for each fixed-term tenant.
You do not need to close your FixerRent account to try PadiRent. Run both. Pick the one you actually open on day 30.
