Why we can do this
Three reasons.
One: PadiRent is bootstrapped, not venture-funded. We do not have investors demanding a paid-user growth curve. We built this in-house at BestDid, the small studio behind it. Our overheads are low. We do not need every landlord to pay us.
Two: the app runs on lean infrastructure. No expensive per-user cloud stack. No SMS bills we pass to you. No middleware between you and your MoMo. You log; we store; we sync. That fits comfortably inside a small monthly budget for the whole product.
Three: the market is early. Most Ghanaian landlords still use notebooks or WhatsApp. Charging landlords a monthly fee today means most landlords will not adopt anything. We would rather have thousands of landlords using PadiRent for free than a handful paying us.
Are there any costs?
Two small things to know:
iOS App Store install. The PadiRent app itself is free to install on iPhone. Apple charges us a developer fee to keep the app in the store; you never see that. If Apple ever changes the model, we will update this page.
Data. The app uses your phone's data connection to sync. If you are in offline mode, no data is used until you reconnect. Payment logging is small — measured in kilobytes, not megabytes.
That is it. No hidden per-tenant fee. No "premium" for advance rent alerts. No paywall on Ghana Card capture.
Will it always be free?
Yes for the core rent management stack listed above. That is the promise.
If we build features that clearly serve a different audience — for example, a full accounting export for large agencies, or an SMS reminder system that we pay to send on your behalf — those may be priced. Landlords using PadiRent today would not lose anything they have.
We will never wake up one Monday and start charging for what is free today.
How does PadiRent make money then?
Right now: we do not, from you. PadiRent is part of a broader BestDid studio product line. Other BestDid products bring in revenue that keeps this one running.
Longer-term possibilities we are considering:
- Paid add-ons for large agencies (10+ properties)
- Optional pro services (help importing your old records, one-time onboarding)
- Partner integrations with insurance or property services — where you decide if you want them
None of these will gate the core app.

Do I need a credit card to sign up? No.
Is there a trial period? No trial. There is no paid tier to upgrade to.
How many properties can I add? As many as you have.
How many tenants per property? Unlimited.
Do you charge my tenants anything? No. PadiRent never charges tenants. We do not touch the money.
What if I need to export my data and leave? Your data is yours. Export it any time.
Can I trust "free forever"? Fair question. Read the section above about how we can afford it. If we ever change the model on core features, we will give plenty of notice.
